One down one to go!

The title of this blog could be either about the fantastic first wine tasting event we ran last night in the Onyx Bar in our Covent Garden restaurant where we held a meet the wine maker event with Leyda. (Second event is Friday - tickets are still available and can be booked here for £9.90 per person) or that the screed floor to the first floor of the new site was finished yesterday.

On the wine event, we had over 60 people in last night tasting 4 wines from the Leyda vineyard in Chile with our partners from Entoria and Coe, who are also holding another London Restaurant Festival event on Friday in the Onyx Bar with another meet the wine producer - St Michel. Last night was a great evening with sushi and nibbles being served whilst we all learnt about the Chilean air and how it lengthens the wine on our pallet. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and there will no doubt be a few sore heads this morning.

Feedback has been excellent with one guest saying:- “Thanks for the event last night - really enjoyable, wines were excellent, event space was good, Laura was excellent and it was nice to meet someone involved deeply with the wine, especially with us being consumers events like this aren't always accessible. The bites/food were a nice touch. Definitely liked the fluidity of the evening and how informal it was!”

So a quick drop into the new site this morning to meet the site foreman who was proud to show how quickly the screed floor laying was continuing - with them finishing the first floor in one day - initially they thought it was a day and a half’s work, so just the ground floor to go! Thoughts are they will be finished today - meaning we get another day ahead of plan!
