inamo's Award Winning Meet the Winemaker Events continue at inamo Covent Garden - 6.30pm Wednesday 29th September

For the next in our series of award winning wine events we're welcoming Meinert wine to inamo Covent Garden's private dining Onyx Room for a celebration of their sensational South Africa wines matched with a fabulous tasting menu.

The tasting will be led by Timothy Connor the UK representative of Meinert wines, whose varietals pair beautifully with our Asian cuisine. You'll be able to taste for yourself as Tim guides you through 6 of their stunning wines. Dishes are served to share between guests on sharing tables of up to 6 guests:

Sauvignon Blanc - aperitif served on arrival - classic flavours of cut grass, apples & pear but with a lovely creamy texture and mouthfeel

The German Job, Riesling - lovely fresh floral, lime, & slightly flinty nose, on palate the sugar and acid are well matched ensuring linearity & purity of fruit

Served with: Bang Bang Cauliflower (v), Spicy Aubergine (v), Korean Chicken Wings.

The Italian Job, White Merlot delicate rose petal, white peach, quince & faint flint aromatics with a textured palate and crisp linearity

Served with: Sashimi Platter, our signature Dragon Roll, and Red Dragon Roll (v)

The Graduate, Syrah - elegant fruit profile of blueberry, blackberry, plums and true Syrah pepper tones

Served with: Yuzu Pork Belly, Yakitori Platter

Synchronicity - a stunning tight blend with lots of complexity and great density, flavours of cassis & smoke, and lovely oak

Served with: Sizzling Black Pepper Fillet of Beef, (+ vegetarian dish TBC) 

Semillon Straw Wine - fresh straw gold colour, enticing whiffs of honey, pineapple and pear

Served with: Little Moons (v), and Banoffi Tempura (v)

South African born Timothy Connor fell in love with the performing Arts and wine, he now knows which takes precedence. Starting his sommelier career in Bread Street Kitchen he later moved to Core by Clare Smyth as an opening member. Later Timothy took the head sommelier position at Heddon Street Kitchen where he met the Meinert team. After long discussion (and many glasses!) Timothy now represents Meinert in the UK.
