Plant a life-changing fruit tree every time you dine at inamo!
Our guests are helping change the world for the better. Carbon Free Dining is a United Nations Environment Partnered restaurant initiative. Every table at all our inamo restaurants now has the opportunity to support their cause, and donate 99p to plant a life-changing fruit tree in Tanzania or another developing country; providing a sustainable way of life to communities in the developing world, and helping offset the carbon impact of every meal enjoyed by our diners.
Each tree we plant over its lifetime will absorb over 1 tonne of harmful carbon gas from the atmosphere, counter-balancing the environmental impact of producing our guests' meals, and also producing fruit for communities to consume and sell, off setting potential wastage. The lower leaves of the trees planted will also in due course provide fodder for livestock, thus further contributing to sustainable living. The trees planted even help reverse the damaging effects of deforestation, supporting eco-systems and soil structures for a huge variety of organisms.
The Carbon Free Dining planting program is an example of Agroforestry, which is a land use management system in which trees or shrubs are grown around or among crops or pastureland.
We're currently averaging around 500 trees planted every week. Soon we'll have a whole inamo forest! See an introductory video below, and keep your eyes on our social media for regular posts regarding this project.
